Hi there,
I am trying to boot an rx2620 from the install DVD, but when I choose "Internal Bootable DVD" I get the message:
Load of Internal Bootable DVD failed: Not Found
The EFI shell doesn't seem to have device mapping for it either (I popped the hard drives to help me figure out which fs# is the DVD).
Device mapping table
blk0 : Acpi(HWP0002,0)/Pci(2|0)/Ata(Primary,Master)
Does this mean the server can't see the drive or that there is a problem with the DVD. The disc says it is 11.23 september 2004 for itanium and PA-RISC.
Thanks,
Dave

Re: rx2620 DVD boot fails
Hi David,
Have you try to create a new entry in efi menu for dvd ? (add a boot option)
Sometimes entry is not correct
Dvd must be core , enterprise or mision critical OS
regards

Solution
If you have an OS loaded already (they come from the factory pre-loaded) you can do the 'ioscan -fnCdisk' command and see if the DVD is CLAIMED.
From the EFI shell you can issue the 'map -r' and/or 'reconnect' This will make the EFI do rescan and see if the DVD is found.
If NO on either or both of these 2 items, place a call to HP support. Sounds as if the DVD drive is not correctly connected or has failed.

Re: rx2620 DVD boot fails
It turns out it was bad media. I put in a new disc and map -r showed the device. Thanks for the assistance.
