Re: rx2660 bad disk
I'm sure you have a hardware RAID in use - please post
# ioscan -fn
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rx2660 bad disk
The rx2660 has a built-in SAS array controller or may have an optional P400 or similar array controller. That means that ioscan may not see actual disks, but instead will see LUNs created by the array controller. It all depends on how the box was originally setup. Try these commands:
sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1 -q target=all sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1 -q raid sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1 -q lun=all

Re: rx2660 bad disk
I think Bill is right, you should see two disk like the above:
disk 1 0/4/1/0.0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG072A9BB7
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c2t0d0s1 /dev/dsk/c2t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0s3
disk 0 0/4/1/0.0.0.1.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP DG072A9BB7
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0 /dev/dsk/c2t1d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s2
/dev/dsk/c2t1d0s1 /dev/dsk/c2t1d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0s3
You have a raid by hardware. Use sasmgr commands to find out the state of your raid.

Re: rx2660 bad disk
In case of the default SAS chip a hardware RAID looks like this:
disk 0 0/1/1/0.0.0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP IR Volume
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s1
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s3
In case of a P400 smartarray controller:
disk 0 0/5/0/0/0/0.0.0 sdisk CLAIMED DEVICE HP LOGICAL VOLUME
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s1 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s1
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s2 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s2
/dev/dsk/c0t0d0s3 /dev/rdsk/c0t0d0s3
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: rx2660 bad disk
But there are 2 disks (unmirrored):
dev/rdsk/c8t0d0 0/1/1/0.0.0.0.0 0x5000c5000519a5c5
/dev/rdsk/c8t1d0 0/1/1/0.0.0.1.0 0x5000c5000519a625
both are listed in ioscan too.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Hi,
yes now i can see the second disk, but is there hardware mirroring option on rx2660 server as available on blade server (BL8xx i2), when i reboot the server and go to shell and execute the following command.

i don't see any Smart Array SAS Driver, i see the below.

Re: rx2660 bad disk
Your "sasmgr get_info -D /dev/sasd1 -q raid" indicates the size of /dev/rdsk/c8t1d0 (= slot 7) is 0, so the disk has probably failed its internal hardware diagnostic and is now effectively dead. Replace it.
You can light up a locator LED to confirm you are replacing the right disk:
sasmgr set_attr -D /dev/sasd1 -q lun=/dev/rdsk/c8t1d0 -q locate_led=on
I guess the EFI shell is smart enough to not display broken disks.
This is the EFI driver for your disk controller:
20 02010400 B X X 1 2 LSI Logic Fusion MPT SAS Driver PciROM:01:01:00:001
The X's indicate the driver supports EFI configuration and diagnostics commands.
The "drivers" listing indicates its driver handle is 20; use "devices" or "devtree" to find the device handle for it.
Then you can use "drvcfg -s 20 <device_handle>" to access the configuration menu of the disk controller while in EFI mode.

Re: rx2660 bad disk
Thanks, you are correct the disk has probably failed,
but I have last question before give you the point.
How I can light up a locator LED on lan or fiber card to confirm the correct lan, if I want to change it. on rx2660 , rx6600 or on all rx servers
Thanks
