SAM & DLT-8000

Hi,
I've installed an external DLT-8000 with a separate SCSI-controller on a HP-UX 10.20A. The adaptor and the DLT are proberly recognized by the system and claimed. The internal DDS-3 got /dev/rmt/0m and the DLT got /dev/rmt/1m as device-files. I can tar to both tapes, SAM recognizes both tapes, but using the option |interactive backup|, SAM refuses to work with the DLT-drive (1m is not a valid output device). Does a patch solve this problem?

Thanks,

Lutz

Re: SAM & DLT-8000

Depending on which type of 9000 you have, ensure you install PHKL_20590 for s700, and PHKL_20591 for s800.

This should help solve this problem

Re: SAM & DLT-8000

Download PHCO_19990. This will help also.

Re: SAM & DLT-8000

Thanks Melvyn,
the patches are installed and the problem is still there. When I try to create a backup-job with the DLT-8000, SAM gives me this message: NOTE:
SAM internal error. The error handler has gotten the errorcode 1 of type NOTE with the associated strings: 10/12.15.0 Quantum DLT8000.
The machine is a J282.
