Re: SAM error

This most likely means you are short of swapspace. What does "swapinfo -tam" show when you try to start sam?

Re: SAM error

Strange, SAM now working.

vuh607 $ swapinfo -tam
Mb Mb Mb PCT START/ Mb
TYPE AVAIL USED FREE USED LIMIT RESERVE PRI NAME
dev 400 0 400 0% 0 - 1 /dev/vg00/lvol2
dev 8192 0 7600 0% 0 - 0 /dev/vg00/lvswap1
reserve - 5093 -5093
memory 11947 1409 10538 12%
total 20539 6502 13445 32% - 0 -

There is an application running on this server that does consume large amounts of system resource. Could be at the time I tried tostart SAM it was hogging a lot of the swap space

Re: SAM error

Hi,

Did you tried into console, if not try it there if still not opening then kill some process which is taking more memory and which is not that much important

Re: SAM error

Shalom,

bdf /var

You need a few hundred megabytes free space there for normal system operations and backups.

Re: SAM error

You can verify the situation at the same time when your application will run again, try again to run the SAM. If you will face any problem again for opening SAM.

Then go for some checks.

swapinfo -tam
top/glance
dmesg
Default vg00 FS utilisation ( /var, /tmp ) Extend these if they dont have enough space on the system

Thanks
