SAM fails to work after installing Quality patches
After trying to install Quality Pack (QPK1100 Mar04) which actually didnt finish due to some corrupt fileset, SAM fails to work.
I came across a thread suggesting to reload SAM from the CORE-OS media so I tried:
swinstall -s /SD_CDROM -l fileset SystemAdmin -x reinstall=true
But this one fails also with the following messages stated in standard out and swagentd/log:
"There is currenly no depot software on host..."
"Failed to start agent on... There is no installed software at /SD_CDROM..."
I also tried "swverify SystemAdmin" and the logs stated ERROR on SAM and SAM-HELP.
FYI:
/SD_CDROM is the mount point for the cdrom
HPUX 11.00 (64-bit)
Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. Thanks.

The individual patches should be reinstalled.
Do not re-install PHKL_18543, it will hurt your system.

Re: SAM fails to work after installing Quality patches
I searched for patches for SAM and found PHCO_21187. Will see if this fixes the problem running SAM.
Also I verified if PHKL_18543 is installed on the machine and results returned with error on VXFS-BASE-KRN. Why should I not reinstall PHKL_18532? How will it hurt my system?

Re: SAM fails to work after installing Quality patches
I see no reason it can not be reinstalled.
PHKL_18543 shows up as a pre-requisite for almost every 11.00 patch on the planet.
If you do a bundle including that patch with the -x reinstall=true option all kinds of problems will result.
LITS, Line in the Sand Patch PHKL_18543 is also known as the patch that cost Steve a lot of sleep. I made the mistake of reinstalling it. The official HP fix for a double install of that patch is reinstall the OS.
I managed to avoid that but it cost me a lot of sleep.
The only patch I know this prohibition applies to is PHKL_18543

Re: SAM fails to work after installing Quality patches
However I tried reinstalling patches but always gets message that it cannot be reinstalled because it is superseded by something.
Will see what else I can do. We can close this thread for now...
