SAM is not stable
We have a clean install of 11.0 on our server.
We setup 1 network card (the other 1 is not configured yet) and we can now telnet to the server.
We installed MirrorDisk/UX (B2491BA) and a Jetdirect patch....
We installed a printer using SAM and can now print to this printer.
We created a new user using SAM.
BUT, throughout out this entire process, we were/are getting errors in SAM. The error is always an "Illegal instruction(coredump)". This error pops up at different times.
For example, we wanted to create a user. We'd type in "sam" at the prompt and bang...that error. We'd reboot and try "sam" again...and no problem.
We'd work in sam and exit fine. Later that day we wanted to check out our disks so we went into sam, selected disks and filesystems....viewed our volume groups, switched view to logical volumes...everything was fine. We exited sam. Went back into sam again to check out Disk Devices (cause we forgot before) and bang, the error again.
The error is always about "Illegal instruction(coredump)"
...but, there have been some errors that gave more info than just this, we just did not write it down (oops).
Any ideas?
TIA

Re: SAM is not stable
Try that.
Its not necessarily part of the Quality Pack because its not as stable as QPK patches must be. But we installed that and SAM became stable.
In otherwords, been there, done that, got the tee-shirt.

Re: SAM is not stable
I forgot to mention that we did install that patch PHCO_25902.
After installing the JetDirect software so that we can use sam to configure printers, it was recommended to install the patch PHCO_25902...which we did.
Unfortunately this has not resolved my problem with sam. Should I remove the patch and install again?
