Samba 2.2 with HP-UX10.20 problem !!!
I'm trying to install samba in my HP-UX10.20 to be PDC of a domain TEST. I configured smb.conf to be PDC and then I went to the client NT4 Workstation and configured it to be a member of the TEST domain and it gave me the message "Welcome to TEST domain", then I reboot the NT machine. When I try to login in my NT Wosrkstation it gave me a message: "Domain TEST is not avaliable...". Any ideas of it ?
Another question, the client users in this TEST domain will be tested in /etc/passwd file or smbpasswd file ?
The computer account worked fine and was added in my smbpasswd file.
Regards,
Mauro

This line is the problem.
security = user
It should be
security = server
Restart Samba and try .
Get back with results.

Re: Samba 2.2 with HP-UX10.20 problem !!!
When I try to logon it gave the message in the log file log.client1 :
[2002/08/14 10:02:20, 0] lib/util_sec.c:(94)
Failed to set gid privileges to (-1,-2) now set to (0,0) uid=(0,0)
[2002/08/14 10:02:20, 0] lib/util.c:(1055)
PANIC: failed to set gid
and I can not login in and appears the message that domain TEST is not available.
Any ideas ?

Re: Samba 2.2 with HP-UX10.20 problem !!!
It??s working now. The problem was my guest account in smb.conf. I created a user different from nobody and it worked.
Thanks and I have more problems I told you.
Regards,
Mauro
