samba authentication via multiple sources
Hey;
I have a feeling this isn't possible, but would like confirmation.
I have a samba server (ver 3.0.22, HP CIFS A.2.3.2) running on an 11.11 system. It ties into a windows nt domain for authentication/authorization to the shares.
The client's in the process of migrating all the systems to an outsourcing datacenter. They have some windows boxes in the outsourcing DC that they need to connect to this particular samba server. They're looking to use a locally defined user on the windows box in the outsourcing DC (which doesn't connect to the same NT domain) to access the samba shares on the HP 11.11 box.
With the HPUX samba server authenticating through a NT domain, can a locally defined user on a windows box in a different NT domain successfully access the samba shares?
Just for clarity: I know next to nothing about samba servers. I had to have most of the config on this current samba server spoon fed to me several years back...
Thanks for any hints/tips/suggestions.

Yes, by using the "Connect As Another User" feature (the exact name depends on Windows version), giving the username as YOURDOMAIN\username, and providing a valid password for that username.
