Binaries in Depot format for Samba 2.0.6 on HP-UX 10.20 and 11.00 used to be available at:
ftp://ftp.thewrittenword.com:/incoming/pub

It may now however, be already residing in ftp://ftp.samba.org

Samba for HP-UX11 is called "CIFS/9000" and is delivered and supported by hp!
Get it form the Application CDs or from "www.software.hp.com"...

I have downloaded the samba software. Now i am installing it on hp through swinstall. Want to know about configuration part. Is it similar as we have on solaris i.e. smbd, nmbd etc.

for configuration you can use the gui tool swat.
Just open a web browser in your network and open the URL:
