Re: samba need to be upgraded

Hi Amit,

You can download and install SAMBA 3.0 from

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8725AA

In HP-UX, it is called "CIFS server and CIFS client"

http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=CIFSTP3

Re: samba need to be upgraded

First:
Download these two depots

client
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8724AA
server
http://h20293.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8725AA

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s \*

example

swinstall -x autoreboot=true -s /tmp/sambaclient.depot \*

swinstall -s /tmp/sambaserver \*

no reboot is required for the server install

Done

Re: samba need to be upgraded

HI,
Does this require a reboot and do we need to take a Ignite backup for this?

Re: samba need to be upgraded

The client requires a reboot. I don't see what Ignite has to do with it.

Check the download of CIFS server, you may have transferred it to the system using ftp ascii when binary was called for or vice versa.
