Samba - Server String not being updated

Hi,

I have just recently upgraded from Samba (server) A.02.04.01 to A.02.04.05 but my server string when connecting is still showing the old version.

Is there anything I need to do for this to be fixed.

i could be mistaken....but i don't think the name for the mapped drive on the pc is dynamic.

have you tried mapping another drive on this pc?

(i usually make the mapped drive name short-n-sweet....)

Hi,

I think you'll find Windows stores those drive definitions in its Registry.    

FWIW, the user can "rename" the drive (right-click on it and select Rename).

I'm not aware of a way to force the client to update it based on the new server comment.
