samba time question

I am having a problem getting samba 3.0.5 to work on my HP-UX 11.i server. One of the problems is a time difference. Is ther a way to set the time within samba?

Re: samba time question

Are you getting the "Clock Skew too high" error message while joining the ADS domain using net ads join command ?

If yes, it is a known problem.

1) Set the TZ to GMT
2) Execute net ads join command
3) Set the TZ back to local time zone.

Re: samba time question

Hi Jeff,

We will have the clock skew problem fixed for the final release. Also, if you got a clock skew on your kinit, you may need to adjust your time on the KDC and/or CIFS Server.

On another topic - are you going to join your 2000 domain or your 2003? I recommend testing this on your 2000 domain, if possible. If not, and you are wanting to authenticate with krb5 with 2003, you need to set up for RC4-HMAC. Email me and we can get you set up to work.
