SAN boot vpar issue after moving to cisco switch 9509
rx7640 , 11.23 , 2 SAN boot vpars
clariion cx3-80
moved from broacde to cisco 9509
before vpar looks like this
re-did zoning , registeration on clariion. All looks fine .

booted the system in Npar mode to find the new device path. here is new path looks like
fc 9 1/0/14/1/0/4/0 fcd CLAIMED INTERFACE HP AD193-60001 PCI/PCI-X Fibre Channel 1-port 4Gb FC/1-port 1000B-T Combo Adapter (FC Port 1)
/dev/fcd9
fcp 17 1/0/14/1/0/4/0.100 fcd_fcp CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Domain
ext_bus 67 1/0/14/1/0/4/0.100.8.239.0 fcd_vbus CLAIMED INTERFACE FCP Array Interface

issue the
vparload -p vpar_d01 -B 1/0/14/1/0/4/0.100.8.239.0.0.0 (see attached file)
( i already tried -lm and -iS options as well)
it gives me non-lvm root on LVM disk
i called HP support and they said the cisco switches are not supported for SAN boot.
Any help ?

Normally I would suggest to boot into single user mode and vgexport/vgimport vg00 to reflect the path changes - but if they say you cannot boot over this switch, there is probably nothing you can do ...

Shalom,
This is a switch configuration issue.
The switch is blocking the port you need to boot the system.
There is nothing inherently wrong with Cisco switches. Apparently whomever did the install does not understand you needs here.
Talk to networking.
