I have a san HP 7400 array attached to my HP L2000. I am getting the below error:

Event Number = 185986

Sequence Number = 25

Event Type = Target Device Event

Event Code = 117

Event Count = 1

FRU Location = JA0/C1

FRU Data = loop/enclosureId/slot : 0x00/0x00/0x80

Reporting Controller = M/C1

Event Source Info = serialNum/moduleId/processId : 00PR05B51248/0xb6/0x10024a

Event Description = The JBOD ESD returned CHECK CONDITION status with sense information not handled by the JBOD error recovery algorithms. The JBOD retries are exhausted or the I/O is not retryable.

But if I run an armdsp -f or an ioscan all of my controllers are good. I got ot looking in the logs and this error has been being repoirted for months. Anyone have any idea's what this is?

Re: San issues.

FRU Location = JA0/C1

This is the first extension enclosure (DS2400 or DS2405).

Please post a full

# armdsp -a

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: San issues.

First I would update all of the firmware.

Your enclosure has

Product ID:___________________________A6255A
Product Revision:_____________________HP04
Controller Type:______________________HP StorageWorks Disk System DS2405

but it could be HP05.

The array itself is HP19 and could be HP22.

And even commandview is 1.07 and could be 1.09.02.

There was a problem with LCC firmware HP04, but I don't remember at the moment what it was - consider an update.

Hope this helps!

Torsten.

Re: San issues.

Thanks Torsten! Do you think the firmware upgrade would eliminate these errors?
