Hi,
We are thinking of getting Sarcheck for our HP-UX systems. I don't find too much feedback other than from the Sarcheck site. I find it somewhat pricey, so I just want some feedback from people who have used it to find out if you think it is worth it or not.
Thanks all,
Sally

Solution
I think the better question is "Is sar worth using?". Sarcheck can be no better than the data which underlie it. There are so many better tools available today (e.g. Glance and whatever the name of the day for PerfView is) that do a better job than cron will ever be capable of that I very seldom use sar. Mind you, I did use sar extensively 20 years ago but the world has changed. Of course, if you are concerned about the cost of sarcheck then you are probably more concerned about the cost of real tools.
I have never been terribly impressed with sarcheck (even when sar was the weapon of choice) because it never really told me anything I couldn't readily see for myself.

If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Sarcheck - Looking for opinions
Same as you. Only hear SarCheck touting their product. Haven't heard from anybody else.
I do believe I saw some free perl programs that would graph your sar values. This was a couple of years back but may be worth investigating.
The advantage for SarCheck would be the support. (How is their support?)
