L.S.

An old engineering note:

The sdstolvm command will be used by the upgrade process, available on a
future release of HP-UX but not at 10.0. SDS arrays will be converted at
upgrade time to LVM volume groups. The disks are automatically converted
over to LVM: During the upgrade, after /dev/ is converted, LVM will scan all
disks on the system and issue the /sbin/sdstolvm command. sdstolvm will
convert the SDS disk arrays to volume groups by rewriting the labels.

JP.

P.S.: You don't run it by typing the command. That's why there are no manual
pages: It's not intended to be something about which you need help because
you don't run it directly.

Re: /sbin/sdstolvm. what is this command for ?

SDS (Software Disk Striping) was avaailable on HP-UX 9.x Workstations (not Servers), but was removed from 10.x of HP-UX.
This command is (or was) a utility to convert SDS disc to LVM during an upgrade to 10.x

As neither of these operating systems are supported any more, you do not need it.
