scanjet IIC

Hi,

i
have got an very old hp scanner (scanjet IIc) and want to connect it to my hp apollo (720) running hp-ux 11.00. Does anybody know the driver i need. Also i am looking for a scanning software.

Usually the scanner is not claimed by a specific driver. Instead the scanner software accesses it using a SCSI pass-through driver, in your case sctl.

HP offers no scan software for 11.x. You may try to run the DeskScan sofware, which is available for 10.20 (DART CDs).

The standard SCSI driver of HP-UX is sufficient. Suitable software is Pixel!FX by Mentalix (good, but expensive); but there is also free software: The SANE project (http://www.mostang.com/sane/) supports a lot of scanners, and it is likely that the ScanJetIIc is among them.
