Sybase dba is having problems during backups. Problems reading from database. He has not been able to acertain which lv. I am currently doing a dd if= disk name of=/dev/null on all the disks to see if I can find the faulty disk.
Any ideas here?
thanks

Re: scsi errors
Identify the disk and do dd/diskinfo on the disk. Also run stm and check the disk for errors.

Re: scsi errors
This suggests that the device might be
c6t12d0
I would use stm to check if this device is working properly by running a query on it.
Also check your EMS logs

Re: scsi errors
If you don't have it, it is freely downloadable from HP.
Yes c6t11d0 is it, b is 11 in hexadecimal.

How to look at the EMS logs?
