SCSI question

I checked out the SCSI FAQ, but didn't see the answer to my question, so figured I'd post here.

I have a DDS3 tape drive (C6365A, Narrow single-ended) in a SMART enclosure (C4318B, 68-pin), trying to connect to a K580. I have a 68-pin Fast-Wide bus open, and a 68-pin FW-differential bus.

Is there any way that I can hook this guy up, or do I need to go out and find a single-ended card?

Thanks!

Re: SCSI question

You cannot connect that to a FWD controller. You need to find out a SE SCSI controller or a compatible one.

Re: SCSI question

Hi Tom,
I thought K-Class has single ended port in it. I will go check our K-class.

You can buy converter diff to single and vice-versa.

Re: SCSI question

Sachin Patel,
I don't see a SE bus anywhere on the backplane unfortunately... I know we do have one on our other K-class boxes, but not this one apparantly (it was refurbbed, so maybe that explains it...)

I never knew such a device existed. Do you have a specific part number, or are they not HP-specific?

I'll have to run this by my vendor; should be cheaper than buying/installing a card. Thanks!
