SCSI Reset errors on a shared bus
Server 1
0/4/0/0/4/0 SCSI ID 7 TERM off Speed no Limit
0/4/0/0/4/1 SCSI ID 6 TERM off Speed no Limit
Server 2
0/4/0/0/4/0 SCSI ID 5 TERM off Speed no Limit
0/4/0/0/4/1 SCSI ID 4 TERM off Speed no Limit
These cards are attached to a SC10 using in-line terminators. The SC10 is set up in Split bus mode.
When the server has booted up and I can login, in the syslog.log I get the following
Server 1
SCSI reset lbolt
repeated about 12 times
Server 2
SCSI reset lbolt
repeated about 12 times
I have replaced the controllers on both servers ,cables and even moved disks around.
This servers are going to be Service Guard later.
I've run out of ideas!!!!

Re: SCSI Reset errors on a shared bus
Please post an ioscan -fn from both servers along with the exact SCSI posted to the message buffer (dmesg).
Best regards...
Dietmar.

Re: SCSI Reset errors on a shared bus
Are you using SCSI Cables with InLine Terminators? (A5668A)?
The cables are required in this environment.

Re: SCSI Reset errors on a shared bus
I solved the problem.
I re-seated the SC10 controllers, and the controllers on all the servers. One of the Ultra cards failed on Server 2.
Replaced card and no SCSI reset errors
Many thanks
Trev.
