SCSI: Resetting SCSI -- lbolt: 7429874, bus: 9
Hi,
I have an L3000/HP-UX 11.11 server with Tape Array with 4 nos. 200 GB Ultrium LTO Drives.
Storage is XP512.
I am getting SCSI error.
syslog.log enclosed.
ioscan -fn enclosed.
Yesterday I have installed the latest HWEnable and QPK patches. This error is seen even before and after patch installation.
What is the cause of the error?

Re: SCSI: Resetting SCSI -- lbolt: 7429874, bus: 9
From the IO scan it seems that there is nothing connected to the SCSI controller that gives the resets... Bus 9 has nothing connected to it.
It could be that nothing is connected. In that case the terminator or SCSI controller could be faulting. Otherwise it is very probably the device connected to the controller that causes the resets.

Every problem has at least one solution. Only some solutions are harder to find.

Re: SCSI: Resetting SCSI -- lbolt: 7429874, bus: 9
I had the same exact problem and it ended up with replacing the defective HD. If it's not the case as pointed our by Elmar, then your SCSI device is not responding and hence it cause to reset the IO.
