SCSI tape drive jumper setting Help
I have a Jetstore 2000 on PC based NT4 connected with an Adaptec SCSI PCI card. The tape is recognized as HP35470A, but it cannot be used. I found there are some jumpers above power connector and don't know what I need.
There is one device connected, i.e. this old tape drive.
Please help advising if I need power term and all other jumpers while there is only one SCSI device.
Very appreciated.

Re: SCSI tape drive jumper setting Help
The manual should indicate how to set the jumpers for the particular use you desire. I believe that some drives have an internal termination setting and it could be one of the jumpers.

Re: SCSI tape drive jumper setting Help
If the tape drive is the only device on the SCSI bus, then you can even get away (on slow single ended SCSI) without having a terminator.
For an HP 35470 DAT drive, removing all the jumpers will work, setting the drive to SCSI address 0.
You do not need to enable TERM POWER, either, as this is provided by the Adaptec controller.
