SEArch does not find CDROM
In an event of upgrading my machine to HPUX 11i I cycled power and when the system came up then I interrupted the autoboot.
When I type SEA then it says searching for potential devices and then comes back with a messsage that search was terminated.
If I do an ioscan after I booted the system then I can clearly see the CDROM.
What could be the issue. Please comment.
Regards

Re: SEArch does not find CDROM
Pressing any key will terminate the Search. If you in fact didn't press any key, then you may need to set the term emulation on the console device to an HP terminal type.
The console *may* be sending unwanted chars out the port that the system interprets as KB input.
If you're ready to boot for the install & the CD is in the drive, then I'd suggest you do a
SEA IPL
to have it search for bootable devices instead of the standard SEA search.
HTH,
Jeff

Re: SEArch does not find CDROM
I followed your advice for pressing D and switching on the terminal and now the terminal doesnt even connect to the server.
Please comment.
