security_patch_check tools
Dear Experts,
Anyone expert in using the security_patch_check tools that can download from www.software.hp.com side ?
Is this tool checking accurate ?
I have trying to run it but its didn't given any recommended patches for the output with using the latest downloaded security_catalog.
Thanks

Re: security_patch_check tools
Hi,
The best way to up to date with security related issues is to sign up for the security related bulletins. Have a look at the below link:

Re: security_patch_check tools
Hi Kenneth,
I have used it, and given the machine had only the patch bundle of March 2001, it returns a list of about 20 patches. IMHO, it seems to work. If you have the June patch bundle (or September if you've got it) you may already have all the latest security patches.
Of course, one thing I hate about it is that it requires perl.... who installs perl on a machine that's supposed to be minimal and secure? Sheesh!
Cheers,
James

Re: security_patch_check tools
Hi Kenneth,
I've been using it for the past several months and the only problem I've had is it keeps telling me I have recalled patch PHNE_18546 installed but I really dont. HP seems to keep it updated concerning recalled and new patches.
