security patch check wants missing patch

The Security Patch Check tool is having problems with the latest SNMP patches. It reports now that I need PHSS_27850 on my 11.00 systems, but that patch doesn't appear in any searches I've tried in the ITRC's "individual patches" search page. Am I missing something?

Re: security patch check wants missing patch

Hi,

Here are the info for the patch:
PHSS_27850 :OV:EMANATE14.2:snmpdm:obsolete:mib:
Target: 11.00 11.11
CDate: 02/09/09
PDate: 02/09/16
HW-OS: s700: 11.00 11.11
s800: 11.00 11.11

But this is a special release patch and is not available on HP Support Line.

I think you should contact the hp support to know if you really need this patch

Re: security patch check wants missing patch

Tim,
This is a special patch that is really for OV but it also fixes the SNMP problem. So you install PHSS_27850 (s700_800 11.X OV EMANATE14.2 snmpdm) if you have OV OR if you have SNMP.

You'll find it where the OV patches are kept:
http://support.openview.hp.com/support.jsp?fromOV=true --> select NEW! Knowledge Base & Patches, etc...

Use PHSS_27850 as the keyword, and unclick all the search options, except for Patches.

PHSS_27850 will be the first patch in the list.

Re: security patch check wants missing patch

Hi,

There is also a special instruction:

Special Installation Instructions:
WARNING: This patch should not be loaded unless the last consolidated patch PHSS_26138 has been loaded.

Re: security patch check wants missing patch

Oh, right, it's an OV patch! I should have thought of that. (Sure would be nice if they were integrated into the ITRC search page...)

Thanks!
