See Ignite Backup Details

Dear All,

Is there any method to see the contents of a tape containing ignite backup.

And one more thing, if I want to restore the system from the ignite tape. Is is possible to boot from the tape. If yes, then in that case when I reboot the system with ignite tape, whether my kernel will automatically be rebuild or I have to manually copy the files.
Please provide a complete procedure in which cases (how many types) I can use my ignite tape and how.

For checking the tape see

Regarding the boot - your system must support booting from tape.
Some older Integrity servers doesn't.
In this case you need to use the 2 step recovery:

boot from install cd
select
-> Install HP-UX -> select Advanced Installation -> Recovery tape -> GO!

Hope this helps!

Torsten.
