select tray on printer

Hello,

I'm running a HPUX 11.00 OS and want to configure a HP Laserjet 8150 printer.
This printer own many trays, I can select the source tray from command line like this:

lp -otray3 -dmyprinter.

And now I'm looking for a way to select the printer output tray with the lp command line.

I'm not sure it can be done with the tray option?

I don't find any option in the lp/interface/model.orig like the -o trayn option to choose the output tray.

thanks,
Alexandre

Re: select tray on printer

Hi Alexandre,

the output is selected with the bin Option. Here is the section from man net_lj5x. This could be different to your 8000 series printer. Better check your man pages, but this should be pretty similar:

bin1, bin2, bin3, ..., bin8

Output pages to specified bin. By default, bin1
(face-down) and bin2 (face-up) are valid. If a
high capacity output device is installed, bins 1-8
may be specified. If bin2 is not available then
bin3 is the face-up bin. The option bin2 is valid
only when a mailbox is attached to the printer.

Hope this helps
