Send message fsadm

Thanks,
I wrote
fsadm -F vxfs /dev/vg00/lvol9
the output is :
vxfs fsadm: /dev/vg00/lvol9 is not the root inode of a vxfs file sytem

You know what´s it

Re: Send message fsadm

It probably means that the filesystem on lvol9 is not a vxfs filesystem or no filesystem was found.

Run this command to determine the filesystem type, it might be hfs rather than vxfs.

fstyp /dev/vg00/lvol9

man fstyp for details.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: Send message fsadm

Try using the mount point name instead of the LV name. If the mount point for /dev/vg00/lvol9 is /gobble then do:

fsadm -F vxfs /gobble

Re: Send message fsadm

You are wrong
fsadm is used with mount point.
for Eg: your lvol9 is mount to /tmp
you must type
fsadm -F vxfs /tmp
check it again
