Sending SNMP Traps from HP-UX
All,
I'm looking for a way to submit very customizable SNMP traps from an HP-UX server to another environment. I don't want to install the OV NNM package on my server, I simply need an snmptrap command to use. I've done some research and I don't believe HP-UX has the desired software. I have tried installing Net-SNMP and it works okay for the most part, but in some cases the snmptrap commands hangs in the process list and never dies and eventually is consumes 100% CPU, not good. So I'm looking for another suggestion, something like Net-SNMP but doesn't crash my server. Any help you can give would be much appreciated.
Thanks,
GBR

Re: Sending SNMP Traps from HP-UX
Shalom,
go to http://software.hp.com
search for snmp software, there may be good open source software in the Internet Express package as well.
The SNMP 100% CPU issue could be due to OS patching problems. You should check that. Latest bi-annual update is a good idea.
