sendmail and hosts config issue
I am having host entry in /etc/hosts & /etc/mail/sendmail.cw.
still i am getting an error message "unable to qualify my own domain name"
can somebody help me??

In your host file put another alias for the host followed by a full stop
ie
xx.xx.xx.xx hostname hostname.

in /etc/hosts put the host entry as follows.
172.25.1.3 hpdev.cmcltd.com hpdev

nslookup hostname
nslookup ip
Use 'set_parms ip_address' / 'set_parms hostname' for ease of use. This self driven application takes all the worry out of it. Note the reboot.

The usual condition for seeing this messages is a server that is *not* running DNS. Technical Knowledge Base docuement #KBRC00002236 offers the corrective procedure.
