Sendmail error

Hi,
I have a relay problem:
system1 is may relay server.
I set relay-domains file properly, and I can send email from my outlook using system1 as smtp.
i have also system2, an hp-ux, from wich I can't send mail.
I try to do sendmail -v, and always seems right. In /var/etc/syslog/mail.log of system1, I have this:
"Apr 16 11:43:44 system1 sendmail[8341]: LAA08341: from=, size=289, class=0, pri=30289, nrcpts=1, msgid=<200304160937.LAA27900@system2>, proto=ESMTP, relay=system2 [10.55.212.1]
Apr 16 11:44:16 system1 sendmail[8343]: LAA08341: to=, delay=00:00:32, xdelay=00:00:32, mailer=esmtp, relay=dest_server. [192.106.253.100], stat=Data format error
Apr 16 11:44:16 system1 sendmail[8343]: LAA08341: LAA08343: DSN: Data format error"

any suggest?

Re: Sendmail error

I've seen this if you upgrade sendmail and do not use the newer version of /etc/mail/sendmail.cf. Stop and restart sendmail and look for a message in the mail.log to this effect.

If so, copy the one from /usr/newconfig/etc/mail and edit as necessary for your site.

Also check the DM macro in etc/mail/snedmail.cf and insure it matches your (valid) domain:

i.e.:
DMyourdomain.com

Re: Sendmail error

If system1 if your main relay server, then I would also set the DS macro on system2 to be system1
