Sendmail error

Hello All,

When we issue a mail command we get the below error in mail log file.

554 5.7.1 : Client host rejected: Host not registered in DARTS
554 Service unavailable

Please help us resolve this issue.

Why does your hostname show up as unknown in the mail.log logfile? You need to fix that first before you look any further with sendmail and DARTS

Hi,

We have two ip address in this system and in hosts file both ip address has diffrent hostnames.

Please advice to rectify this issue...

Hi,

We are new to send mail and whenever user sent a outgoing mail, the above error comes in /var/mail/userlog file.

Also let us know what is DART and how its configure in HP unix server.

You have to fix the hostname issue first.

Type "hostname" and see if the output is the correct name for your host. If not, check /etc/hosts and /etc/rc.config.d/netconf to verify that the right hostname is in there.

Now for the DARTS error, I have never heard of DARTS in hp-ux. I assume it is you ISP and/or sendmail relay site.

You probably have to register your host name with them so that they allow you to relay your email through them.
