sendmail patch

I applied the sendmail security patch that was issued a few months back, and now .forward does not work for any of the users. Any suggestions?

Re: sendmail patch

/usr/sbin/sendmail -v -d8.99 -d38.99 stevenprotter@juf.org

Change my email address to the target user with the .forward file.

type a line of text then

type a dot(period) . then

check the mail.log file on the server after running the command.

You'll get some diagnostics.

I'd also make sure the permissions on the .forward file are reasonable, readable by root, which launches and runs the sendmail daemon.

To get really esoteric, you might want to look at /etc/aliases or /etc/mail/aliases and see if there is anything in there that could be messing things up.

This could be a what did you change besides the binary.

I installed the binary patch and sendmail 8.11.1 and .forward still works.

HP-UX 11.11
64 bit.

Heavily patched.
