sendmail question

The servers on a network are running various versions of "sendmail."
Suppose a user who has accounts on two of those machines accidentally
creates an "alias loop" by setting each system to forward his or her
email to the other.

What is the most likely outcome?

A The message will bounce back and forth a relatively small number of times.

B The message will bounce back and forth only once.

C It will bounce back and forth a fairly large number of times.

D Depends which versions of sendmail these two machines are using.
E The message will bounce back and forth until both systems have crashed

Re: sendmail question

Hi Roger,

They should bounce until the MaxHopCount parameter is reached (default is 25).

Re: sendmail question

The answer is A

the provisio of the prior post is how many times depends on a sendmail parameter.

Default is it will bounce 25 times.
