sendmail - safesasl

I'm getting these errors in my mail log file, can someone tell me what generates them?

sendmail[13678]: error: safesasl(/usr/lib/sasl/Sendmail.conf) failed: No such file or directory
sendmail[13678]: error: safesasl(/etc/sasldb.dir) failed: No such file or directory

Re: sendmail - safesasl

SASL: SASL is used by network servers (e.g., IMAP, SMTP) to request authentication from clients, and in clients to authenticate against servers.

It looks like someone at least partially set this up on your system.

The SASL (Simple Authentication and Security Layer) is also defined in RFC 2554.
