Serial Port configuration.

Serial Port configuration.

I kindly ask if someone know how the right mode to configure a serial port to connect a modem for internet, on my WS HP 715/80.
Can I use SAM, or I have to use unix command like mknod to create the diver(s) ?
If I can use SAM, I have to configure a terminal port or modem port?
Or, if I have to use mknod, which minor and major number are required?

I waiting for any answer.
