I have 3 printers connected through the Mux - 2 dot matrix, and one LJ4. I can print through UNIX but, when trying to capture the printer on the pc I am getting a "printer not online" error. This is not a new "setup" in my environment, however, I just dont know where to look to resolve this problem. Any help would be appreciated.
Thanks,
Chet

Solution
I can't see the fact that they are serial printers making any difference, if the are printer queues are enable and accepting requests it should not make any difference if they are serial, parallel or even Jetdirects using JetAdmin/hntpd.
I have had a problem in the past where the IP information of a PC was not in the /etc/hosts file of the HP-UX system and we were not using DNS so the HP-UX system did not recognise the PC so refused to share its devices. It may be worth trying to NFS mount a filesystem on the PC.
