Server Hung

A server in a remote office is currently hanging on re boot. The problem is the server is about 100 miles away, little difficult to check.
On the console however the local people have advised there is a message showing
network memory for fragment re assembly restricted to 62849024 bytes
Logical volume 64 , 0x3 configured as root.

I have been unable to log on to check things, any ideas anyone. root disk ??

Re: Server Hung

Hi Paul:

No worry, those are standard messages seen during startup. If you do 'dmesg' you will probably see those and more.

Re: Server Hung

Hi Paul,

The message shown in your post is a normal system status message (if you run dmesg on another server, you will be able to see this).

Are there any fault codes showing on the status line at the bottom of the console (or on the LCD panel if this is a K-class) ?

Regs,
Paul.

Re: Server Hung

Hi again:

Oh, sorry, it helps to read every word. These are normal messages but you said the boot was not proceeding further.

Do you have any fault codes showing? or oscillation of codes?
