Server not broadcasting on floating ip
Hi,
I have set up a Cluster comprising two nodes.
There are two packages configured.
The packages run OK, apart from the fact that when I try to connect thru a firewall, from the node running the packages, the server broadcasts the real ip of the node - not the floating ip.
This will require configuration of both of the real ips on the firewall. I would prefer if the package broadcaseted on the floating ip.
Can anyone suggest, how I can fix this?
TIA
Johnny

Re: Server not broadcasting on floating ip
Have you read page 419 of the "Managing Serviceguard" manual? The section is titled, "Bind to Relocatable IP Addresses"
http://docs.hp.com/en/B3936-90100/B3936-90100.pdf
It is not Serviceguard that decides whether to transmit using the fixed IP or relocatable IP - it is the program that transmits from the NIC that decides that.

Re: Server not broadcasting on floating ip
Johnny,
I had the same problem a while ago
This is a workaround
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=975818
But in my case to really solved it we have to change a rule to the firewall in case of a failover, it wasn't really ftp that we were using but a related protocol.
I hope the workaround can help you
