Servers not allowing password expiry in NIS Server

Hi,
I have set password expiry on our NIS Server
"HP-UX fourthb B.10.20 A 9000/715 2010841901"
As a result it has added a string ",O.jP" to the password field of the passwd.nis file.
It is working fine with all the servers of HP-UX (10. & 11.).
I have VSOS machines of configuration
UNIX_System_V tmhsv95 4.0 R40V4.4 m88k mc88110
It is not allowing any user from NIS server.
Giving login incorrect. If I disable password expiry, it is working fine.
Please help me that any configuration I need to change to the NIS Server or VSOS Machine.
