Service Control Manager Question

I am getting the following error when running a tool at the command line in SCM?

Authentication failure: the CMS and managed node time clocks may not be synchronized, or communication time limit may have been exceeded.

Help!

Re: Service Control Manager Question

I would seriously suspect that the systems need their clocks to be in sync.
Use xntp to do this, set it up and then try again.

Re: Service Control Manager Question

I never synchronised my servers together and SCM works just perfectly.. what may be more valid is to look at the date stamps or TZ and make sure they're the same.
Do you have any more info in the scm logs?

Re: Service Control Manager Question

Thats the only error message i am recieving in the scmgr.log. I checked and both system clocks are off by over 3 minutes. The default time-out in SCM is 120 seconds, so this could be why im timing out. I will configure xntpd to run on both server and one being the server and the other the peer.

thanks,

Chris
