Service Guard and IBM PPRC (Metro mirror)

Hi,

has anyone tried to implement IBM storage replication techology called Metro mirror (former name PPRC - Point to Point Remote Copy) on IBM DS8000 storages into MC Service Guard on HP-UX?
I have found that HP-UX supports Metro mirror, but not sure about the Service Guard. Is there official plug-in for the cluster or do I need to develop something?
I know Veritas cluster 4.1 on HP-UX has PPRC plugin included, so has that also MC Service Guard?

Thanks,
Pavel

Re: Service Guard and IBM PPRC (Metro mirror)

Pavel,

No. Serviceguard has integrations which work With EMC SRDF and HP Continuous Access/XP or Continuous Access/EVA, but no integration with IBM storage products - I'd guess theres probably not sufficient demand to sustain the engineering effort involved.

Of course Serviceguard is flexible enough to let you craft this yourself if you want - everything you need to do could be easily accomplished in the Serviceguard package control file. Thing is you'd have to write and support it yourself...

hi pavel ;

actually you dont need to much thing in metro mirror-HP-UX.

after rmflash on ds8000 side , if you want to mount fs to single system you will import ,change cluster bit of the volume group and mount it . before the mkflash you will deport vg.
