Service Guard and ssh?

Service Guard and ssh?

I can't use any of the r-commands at work due to security. I'd like to implement SG using ssh. Where should I all look for uses of it?
Has someone already done this? So far all I've found is cmscancl (that uses remsh).

Thanks

Re: Service Guard and ssh?

Hi,

I know there are several commands using the r* services to communicat w/ the other ServiceGuard server(s).

One of these commands is cmviewcl.

As far as I know, there is no possibility to use ServiceGuard w/ ssh instead of r*

Hope this helps,
Rik.

Re: Service Guard and ssh?

Hi:

If the .rhosts file is an issue in your environment, MC/ServiceGuard allows you to setup /etc/cmcluster/cmclnodelist. This file is checked first, before any .rhosts.

Re: Service Guard and ssh?

Hi. Thanks for the feedback.

cmviewcl is a compiled binary... at least on my box anyway :).

I'm not concerned about setting up the nodes (I did use cmclnodelist), but primarily the functionality of SG and it's reliance on r* in places I haven't found yet.

cmscancl is the only culprit... thus far.

Thanks

Re: Service Guard and ssh?

Hi (again);

One more comment. Think of the MC/ServiceGuard cluster as one entity when you think of security.
