serviceguard A.11.19.00 package management

Hello

i have created a fail-over package before oracle installation, now i want oracle to be monitored, start and stop with serviceguard.

HPUX 11i v3
serviceguard A.11.19.00
oracle 10g

how i can reconfigure the package with the control script?
this new HPUX version package configuration is so strange.

Re: serviceguard A.11.19.00 package management

Use the Oracle Toolkit that is part of the Enterprise Cluster Management Toolkit (ECMT) product. If you have HA-OE or DC-OE then this should also be installed on your server.
Look under /opt/cmcluster/toolkit

Hi,

As Melvyn said "If you have HA-OE or DC-OE then this should also be installed on your server."

Re: serviceguard A.11.19.00 package management

Or if you have MCOE look for: T1909BA B.05.00 Entreprise Cluster Master Toolkit

After installation check /opt/cmcluster/toolkit/oracle and the readme file.

Since you already have a package configured you just have to add in the oracle module:
For example if in /etc/cmcluster/pkgdir
cmgetconf -p pkg pkg.conf.new
cmmakepkg -v -i pkg.conf.new -m ecmt/oracle/oracle (this is the module to add oracle to a package)
vi pkg.conf.new and edit your oracle parameters
cmcheckconf -P pkg.conf.new
cmapplyconf -P pkg.conf.new

do a man on cmmakepkg

Hey;

All of the above *AND* "cart, meet horse"

you really want to get your application running correctly on the host *before* you create the package for it. That way, any issues that show up in the application you know are a result of the clustering. Any other way and you introduce unnecessary complications.
