ServiceGuard & MSA30MI
It is not possible to chain several MSA30MI with MC ServiceGuard cluster because the SCSI IDs are fixed for each disk.
Daisy chaining the units will cause duplicated SCSI IDs - so this is not supported (thanks for explanation from -Torsten-).
Is it possible with an additionnal Dual SCSI card ?
Thanks

Re: ServiceGuard & MSA30MI
A dual card has two busses, one for each MSA30MI.
So you need at least 2 dual bus cards per server for 2 MSA30MI.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.

Re: ServiceGuard & MSA30MI
I mean:
- Server1&2 Card1 Port1&2 to MSA30MI_1
- Server1&2 Card2 Port1&2 to MSA30MI_2
or:
- Server1&2 Card1&2 Port1 to MSA30MI_1
- Server1&2 Card1&2 Port2 to MSA30MI_2

Re: ServiceGuard & MSA30MI
The MSA30mi has fixed SCSI addresses on the disk slots.
If you put each MSA30mi on separate SCSI busses, no duplication of SCSI addresses will occur since each SCSI adapter (channel) sees only one MSA30mi and it's fixed addresses.

Re: ServiceGuard & MSA30MI
- Server1&2 Card1&2 Port2 to MSA30MI_2
for redundancy reasons to prevent a SPOF (the dual card).
Be careful, if you swap out existing cards and replace them by new dual cards, your HW pathes and device files will change. You will need to re-configure your cluster.
Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
