Hi everyone
We havent implemented MCSG yet but are planning on doing so and I'm trying to understand how it will work in our environment.
The package will be using Informix database, with the raw data volumes on shared storage.
I understand the cluster will have a package name and a floating IP address. When it comes to configuring the /etc/sqlhosts file what will I put in for the server name?

Solution
Hi,
It will need to be the IP or hostname that is assigned to the Serviceguard package.
See page 29 in this doc.

Re: serviceguard and informix database
hello everyone
still trying to plan ahead for moving our informix database to a serviceguard cluster.
The idea I had in my head was that not only would the raw data be on the shared volume, but so would the /informix software directory.
In the event of a cluster failover to the 2nd server, it would just be a matter of mounting the shared volume and bringing up informix.
After reading the document http://h71019.www7.hp.com/ActiveAnswers/downloads/Serviceguard_IBM-IDC_HP9000_Integrity.pdf
it says I would install informix separately on each node.
This would then mean that once our cluster is up and running, we will always have to make updates / changes to both nodes.
Is it not just a simple matter of sharing the / informix folder?
Any advice is greatly appreciated
Thanks
