Serviceguard and SNMP
Hi,
This is the scenario:
I have a cluster with 2 cluster nodes, c1 and c2 running MC/SG.
c2 is the master node or the co-ordinator, which sends all the traps. (cluster primary node)
The SNMP master agent and the SG sub-agents are running on both c1 and c2.
I start packages , stop packages and for all the operations I do, I receive the traps from c2.
Now, I stop the node c2(cmhaltnode -f c2), c1 becomes the master(the cluster primary node) and I receive the traps from c1, Which is fine. (My understanding is that the cluster primary node sends the traps).
But, when I stop the agents on c2(SNMP master and SG sub-agent), c1 doesnt become the master node.
Still, c2 remains the cluster primary node. And I dont receive any traps.
How can I make c1 agent to send the traps when the agents are shutdown on c2?
Is that possible?
When c2 agents are brought up, it works fine.
thanks
karthik

Re: Serviceguard and SNMP
Hi Karthik,
You may need the patch PHSS_24305. It seemed to have fixed a lot of issues related to Service Guard SNMP agent. See if it helps.

You may be disappointed if you fail, but you are doomed if you don't try

Re: Serviceguard and SNMP
is this an issue or the functionality of SG?
