Serviceguard cmapplyconf
Hello,
HP-UX version 11.31(Itanium), Serviceguard version 11.19.
Planning to change Serviceguard cluster configuration using cmapplyconf.
After cmapplyconf execution if cluster not working properly - can I go back to previous configuration simply by replacing previously backed up version of /etc/cmcluster/cmclconfig file on all nodes ?
Thanks,
Vilius M.

Re: Serviceguard cmapplyconf
Hello Vilius,
Replacing the binary with OLD binaries from backup will not help .
Ideally you should generate the ascii file of current cluster / package (if you do not have a backup or not able to find one) be by running cmgetconf .
Run cmcheckconf using the ascii file you have / created and make sure that it is not showing any issue - if so fix them and confirm it is working as expected and keep it safe as backup .
Now you may make copy of the ascii file and make the modification you want to make with cluster/pkg .
Check the changes using cmcheckconf before applying the changes and it should work .
To revert, you should get the ascii file which you kept as backup , run cmcheckconf and cmapplyconf to get the cluster running with OLD configuration .
