ServiceGuard manager

Hi,

I've heard there is a new version of ServiceGuard Manage which has a different name, so I can't find it, does any body knows ?

Thanks.

Re: ServiceGuard manager

I didn'y hear that. I will search for it.
I know it only changed in 2003 from a previous name:

HP ClusterView Plus is being replaced by HP ServiceGuard Manager. Both show graphic maps of your ServiceGuard clusters. Both have textual and graphical information about configuration and status of cluster objects. Both provide common commands to administer clusters.

Re: ServiceGuard manager

If I'm not mistaken the new version runs as HTML and not in X like todays versions.

Re: ServiceGuard manager

Version A.05.02 was the last version of the standalone Serviceguard Manager and can still be used for managing clusters built on Serviceguard 11.17 and earlier.

Newer versions of Serviceguard (11.18 and the just about to be released 11.19) on HP-UX 11iv2 and 11iv3 include the new Serviceguard Manager Plug-in for Systems Management Homepage v B.01.01.

This is accessed through SMH by going to the tools screen and then selecting Serviceguard Manager

Re: ServiceGuard manager

Current versions of Serviceguard install Serviceguard Manager in SMH - System Management Homepage - a webpage-based utility for managing multiple servers.

You can see if it's functioning by using a link of this syntax:

http://:2301/

Example:
http://helix.alf.cpqcorp.net:2301/

If it is not, check for this process:
/opt/hpsmh/lbin/smhstartd

If that process is not running, check /etc/rc.config.d/hpsmh

# HPSMH configuration.
#
# START_SMH: Set to 1 to start hpsmh daemon upon reboot
#
START_SMH=0

#
# AUTOSTART_SMH: Set to 1 to start hpsmh in a request to the 2301 port
#
AUTOSTART_SMH=1

#
# START_TOMCAT: Set to 1 to start Tomcat when HPSMH starts
# Set to 0 to start Tomcat on demand
#
START_TOMCAT=0

Re: ServiceGuard manager

I am using Service Guard 11.16 and I cant find /opt/hpsmh or /etc/rc.config.d/hpsmh - there are no such files.

Which product installs them ?

Re: ServiceGuard manager

Did you read the responses?

For SG 11.17 and earlier you use the old Serviceguard Manager that can be downloaded FoC from here:

http://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=B8325BA

For SG 11.18 and later, you use the tool built into SMH. That tool is *not* available for 11.17 or earlier.
