ServiceGuard / trusted / NIS+ future
HP sent out a letter in October saying that NIS+ will no longer be supported (KBAN00001042). We use it because it is the only solution for a Trusted system running ServiceGuard. The letter says that migration documentation to LDAP will be out next year (2Q2004), but does anyone use LDAP with Trusted systems? Does it work well? Any problems?

Re: ServiceGuard / trusted / NIS+ future
I have been told by people I trust at HP that LDAP does now work properly with Trusted Systems.
I will be trying that during 2004 and will gain experience at that time.
NIS+ was very hard in class and I never had to do it in real life. Its not much of a loss in my opinion.

Re: ServiceGuard / trusted / NIS+ future
I have not tried it, I'd start in the release notes first:
http://www.docs.hp.com/hpux/onlinedocs/J4269-90019/J4269-90019.html
Trusted Systems Support
LDAP-UX Integration and Trusted Systems cannot co-exist and are not supported on the same host. Solutions for password policy enforcement for host-based accounts are planned for a future release of HP-UX which can co-exist with LDAP-UX. Password policy enforcement for directory-based accounts will be enforced by the directory server through the PAM_LDAP component of the LDAP-UX Integration product.
More info are found here :
